Almost everyone has noticed Earglasses® headsets. Jay Leno joked about them no less than three times on the Tonight Show. David Letterman showed them too, when thousands of people wore them to Woodstock 2. Dave Barry once poked fun at them as a Christmas gift idea. That same year, USA Today said they thought that the headsets were a fine idea for a Christmas gift. Yes, Earglasses® headsets do look a bit odd. But it wasn't so long ago that people made fun of those who wore eyeglasses, too. Remember when "four eyes" was used to insult people who wore "spectacles?" Now eyeglasses and "sunglasses" are sold as a fashion statement. Other media figures have been positively impressed with Earglasses® headsets. The syndicated television program "The Best of the New" once said that "...this amazing invention is simple, but it does help you to hear better." The Wall Street Journal's columnist on product design called them "a feast for the ears," and then quoted George Fix, editor of Mix magazine as saying they are "useful in a concert hall." Sounds Like News, a high-end audio review publication said that they "could be a valuable addition to every audiophile's tool kit." Many mainstream media have made amused but positive comments about them, including CNN's "Futurewatch," ABC-TV's "The Home Show," and CBC's "Marketplace." Other publications that have covered them include Video Review, Mix magazine, Radio World, Radio and Records, TWICE ("This Week in Consumer Electronics"), American Industry, and New Equipment Reporter. Magazines for doctors and audiologists have been favorably impressed with the headset too, judging by comments that have appeared in American Family Physician, The Hearing Journal, Hearing Instruments, ASHA (the journal of the American Speech and Hearing Association), Audecibel, and SHHH ("Self Help for the Hard of Hearing"). |
